Wrinkle Reduction
Wrinkle reduction Treatment
Neuromodulator treatment involves the use of prescription-only medicines (Schedule 4) that may be used to temporarily reduce the activity of selected muscles, where clinically appropriate. These muscles can contribute to the appearance of facial movement or expression lines over time.
Treatment is only provided following a comprehensive consultation and clinical assessment with a qualified health practitioner to determine suitability and develop an individualised treatment plan.
All neuromodulator treatments are administered by a registered nurse under the direction of a prescribing medical practitioner, in accordance with current legal, TGA, and AHPRA requirements. Prescription-only medicines cannot be supplied or administered without prior assessment and prescribing.
What to Expect During Your Appointment
- A detailed consultation to assess your concerns, treatment goals, medical history, and individual risk factors
- Assessment of facial anatomy to determine whether treatment is clinically appropriate
- Cleansing of the skin; guide markings may be applied where required
- Administration using very fine needles into specific areas, where clinically indicated
Once prescribing and consent processes are completed, the procedure itself is generally brief. Discomfort is typically mild; comfort measures, including numbing options, may be offered where appropriate.
Your practitioner will explain the procedure, expected timeframes, limitations, and all known risks as part of the informed consent process.
